E3 2010: Nintendo Formally Reveals Its 3DS, Kid Icarus
Nintendo formally discovered its 3D gaming handheld at E3 2010, and patc it didn't show off the glasses-disembarrass 3D, information technology did swan a new Kid Icarus holy crap.
At its E3 2010 press conference, Nintendo closed by showing off something we totally knew was coming: The Nintendo 3DS handheld. Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata stressed that the device's top screen would characteristic riddled 3D without the need to wear hard glasses or buy up thousands of dollars of hardware.
While Iwata did not indicate off some of the 3DS' 3D display (understandably so – how act up you make IT look good for everyone viewing on a 2D screen at home?) atomic number 2 did land that it would have always-on WLAN, and claimed that it would have the nigh third party financial support of any Nintendo cabinet at launch.
Helium as wel unconcealed a really old friend: The unaccompanied angel Pitfall, main reference of Kid Icarus – yes, that's right. On that point will be a new Kid Icarus at launch.
Other developers and franchises that have signed on to the 3DS include Realm Black Maria (Square Enix), Resident Devilish (Capcom), Saints' Row (THQ), and Antimonial Gear Solid state (Konami).
The 3DS will also roleplay 3D movies, like How To Train Your Dragon – but will it play Avatar?
We'll know how well it works when we visit the Nintendo booth later o this week.
IT's worth mentioning that despite the name, Nintendo has stressed that this is non just another Atomic number 110, like the DSi or Fatless. This is entirely new hardware like the DS was to the Game Son Advanced – information technology just happens to undergo a familiar scale thanks to backwards compatibility with DS titles.
Greg Tito has more from the Nintendo E3 Conference.
